  • This is largely up to you, the patient.

You can wear whatever makes you comfortable. You can remain fully clothed or undress to your comfort level — our practitioners can work either way. If clothing is removed, professional draping is always used to ensure your privacy.

  • Yes! We have a pregnancy pillow that allows you to lay face down as long as you feel comfortable to do so in your pregnancy. The time frame differs from person to person. • Yes! Many are left wondering what else they can do to help themselves in their recovery journey. The three cornerstones of c-section recovery are: compression, core engagement and scar mobility. It’s with scar mobility that cesarean massage comes into play.

Keeping the tissues around the scar and the scar moving with ease is paramount to keeping the area pain free.

So how do we achieve that? Through massage. Whether it’s something you choose to do on your own or whether you choose to see a professional, mobilizing the tissues of your abdomen and scar can help with healing.

  • The weeks and months after birth are often called the fourth trimester — a time when your body is recovering, adjusting, and learning new physical demands. Feeding, carrying, rocking, and spending long hours in new positions can lead to tension in the neck, shoulders, back, hips, and wrists.

Postpartum massage is designed to support this transition. Your treatment may include gentle assessment and hands-on work to help relieve common aches and pains, reduce muscle tension, and support your body as it heals and adapts to caring for a new baby.

If your baby isn’t mobile yet, you’re welcome to bring them along to your appointment. We understand that this stage of life can be unpredictable, and our goal is to create a supportive, flexible environment where you can receive care while adjusting to life with your little one.

As always, treatments are tailored to your comfort and needs, and we’ll work together to make sure the session feels supportive for where you are in your postpartum journey.

  • Great question! Ideally, we would have a parent in the room for the first appointment to go over any questions you both may have. This ensures your child’s comfort during what is likely their first experience with a Massage Therapist. From there, we can make an informed decision on whether the child would prefer to have their parent in the room or not.

Kids appointments are generally shorter in length. If we collectively decide that a longer appointment would benefit your child, we can look at booking a 60 minute appointment rather than a 30 or 45 minute.

Meagan Gwilt and Doug are currently accepting new patients for kids 12 and under.

If your child is between the ages of 13 and 18, please book a New Patient: General Practice appointment
